Anki (which you can find here) is a spaced repetition system with the aim of helping you remember information. Spaced repetition systems are common and becoming increasingly well known in language learning circles. The way they work is after initially learning a piece of information (such as a word) you are tested on it shortly after to refresh it in your mind. If you recalled it correctly you will see it again after a longer period of time, such as a day. This interval increases each time you get it right. So if you get it right a day later you will see it again in about three days, then 5, then a week, a month, until you won’t expect to see it for a very long time. There are many things a Physicist can do once they have their Ph.D. besides staying in academia. One may want to leave academia due to difficulty finding a job, lack of passion for teaching, change of pace, or any other reason. Regardless of your reason for searching for employment out of academia, there are plenty of opportunities open to those that have a Ph.D. in physics. In this blog I will focus on two things. Physics, including news, discoveries, worked out problems, and explanations of various things in physics. Mine research focus is in theoretical cosmology, and my current work is on dark energy. My second focus is traveling. I love to travel and have been to a number of countries already, I plan on visiting many more, and I want to bring you the reader along in my adventures!
I plan on updating this blog regularly, and as this is a new blog, there will be a lot of changes over the next month or more as I figure things out and make more progress.
