Burlington Vermont

Burlington Vermont is a popular travel destination in the green mountain state, and there are plenty of activities year round.

In the summer there are plenty of activities centered around Lake Champlain, including sailing, fishing, and tours around the lake. The waterfront constantly has events going on and is an enjoyable place to relax on a warm summer day.

In the fall, many restaurants and bars that sell unique artisanal Vermont beers and ciders. There is a variety of country style foods that can be enjoyed such as shepherd’s pie or Vermont stew. And of course, there is apple pie paired with Vermont cheese.

As it gets into late fall and early winter you can check out all of the sweet maple products, from the best maple syrup you will ever have to maple candies and treats that are sure to satisfy your sweet tooth. I actually try and avoid maple candies as I often eat the whole box.

In the winter there are numerous ski resorts where you can not only ski but snowboard and snowmobile. Winter is also a popular time to stay in bed and breakfasts that are sprinkled throughout the state and are a perfect way to experience the beautiful scenery of Vermont. My grandparents have enjoyed staying in them when they lived outside of the state and have met many lovely people that way.

In the spring, as the snow melts and the flowers start to bloom I have personally spent much time on the famous Church Street where you can do all sorts of shopping for Vermont made goods. There is also a new ramen shop that opened up that has delicious freshly made Japanese ramen.

I have enjoyed spending time in Burlington, and it has Vermont’s only airport (an international one with flights to Montreal, Canada), so you are bound to spend some time there if you fly into Vermont.
